Welcome! Do you work for an organisation in Uganda, Malawi, Tanzania or Ghana and would you like to work with Gered Gereedschap? Then we warmly invite you to submit an application. We recommend that you first take the time to read this page carefully. This will give you a clear understanding of how we work, what kind of support you can expect from us, and under which conditions we collaborate. In this way, we can work together towards a well-considered and appropriate application.<\/p>\n

GERED GEREEDSCHAP IS MAKING IT WORK<\/h2>\n

Gered Gereedschap is a Dutch non-governmental organisation with more than forty years of experience in supporting craftsmen and women in developing countries. We work together with local organisations to strengthen technical vocational education and entrepreneurship in Africa.<\/p>\n

Our support is always practical and tangible. It may include tool sets and machines for training institutes, fully equipped sewing workshops, or support in strengthening the skills of vocational teachers. What all our projects have in common is a clear focus on one shared goal: strengthening technical craftsmanship as a foundation for self-reliance and a dignified livelihood.<\/p>\n

HOW TO APPLY FOR SUPPORT<\/h2>\n

At Gered Gereedschap, every project starts with a local partner. We work together with organisations in Uganda, Malawi, Tanzania and Ghana that strengthen vocational education and entrepreneurship and see a clear need for practical support within their community.<\/p>\n

If your organisation is working to improve technical skills training or to create opportunities for craftsmen and women, we invite you to submit an application. In addition, Gered Gereedschap may actively approach local or international organisations to explore possibilities for cooperation.<\/p>\n

When assessing applications, we look for initiatives that respond to demand from the local labour market and contribute to sustainable livelihoods. We particularly value programmes that support entrepreneurship and continue to guide young people after their training. Projects that promote gender equality, focus on marginalised groups, work through cooperatives, or contribute to ecological awareness and environmental protection are also strongly encouraged.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Rental workshops<\/h2>\n

A skilled craftsman cannot do his job without good quality tools and machines. Together with its partners, Gered Gereedschap sets up tool rental locations which gives local craftsmen access to quality tools.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Gered Gereedschap can arrange working space to provide vocational training or to start a small business. This concerns multipurpose workshops based on standard 20ft and 40ft sea containers.<\/p>\n<\/div>
