OUR OBJECTIVES<\/h2>\n

Gered Gereedschap supports craftsmen and women in developing countries. Our general programme objectives are laid down in our Foundation’s Articles. Our long-term approach is laid down in our policy plan and strategy paper.<\/p>\n

The board as well as staff of the foundation is involved in developing, monitoring and adjusting these plans. During national meetings, workshops and volunteers are asked for their input as well. We also invite partners, volunteers and other aid organisations about their views on our plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ANNUAL PLAN<\/h2>\n

Based on our long-term vision and established plans we set our objectives per year. We determine which building blocks will be used, which projects will be supported and decide which partners to cooperate with. Our objectives are laid down in our annual plan.<\/p>\n

The board and staff members will evaluate several times per year to analyse the extent to which the results achieved have met the stated objectives.<\/p>\n

BOARD<\/h2>\n

The management of Stichting Dienstencentrum Gered Gereedschap is the responsibility of the Board of the Foundation. They define the main lines of policy and take decisions at strategic level. To do so, they will consult project managers and volunteers from Gered Gereedschap.<\/p>\n

The board has four members all of whom actively participate in the implementation. All board members are related to Gered Gereedschap on a voluntary and unpaid basis. The board consists of the following members:<\/p>\n<\/div>

‘Alone you go fast, together you go further! – This thought inspires me as chairman of Gered Gereedschap. We support skilled workers in Africa \u2013 people with valuable skills but not always the means to realize their potential. GG’s practical approach, which builds on people\u2019s strengths, greatly appeals to me. I am proud and grateful to lead such a dedicated community of volunteers, donors, and partners, who aim to combat poverty through craftsmanship.’<\/p>\n<\/div>

‘For me, Gered Gereedschap is a unique and clever organization. Tools that you would normally throw away can be donated to us. They are refurbished and then get a second life in an African country. Around 500 volunteers across the Netherlands actively contribute to this effort. How wonderful is that!\u2019<\/p>\n<\/div>

‘I have always been interested in development cooperation. In the past, I worked part-time as a legal professional for organizations such as SNV, Cordaid, NUFFIC, and OikoCredit. After ending my legal career, I wanted to continue contributing in this field. Gered Gereedschap appealed to me because of its concrete and tangible goal: giving people the opportunity to escape poverty through craftsmanship. I have been contributing for years as a donor and have previously donated surplus tools. Within the board, I serve as secretary and provide legal advice when needed. This combination of practical work and strategic support makes my contribution both valuable and meaningful.’<\/p>\n<\/div>
