‘THIS TRAINING HAS CHANGED MY LIFE’<\/b><\/h1>\n

\nMohammed Abdul-Nasir, 25 years old, had little future prospects after obtaining his high school diploma. Due to his parents’ financial situation, it was not possible for him to continue his studies.<\/h4>\n<\/div>

He became unemployed and completely dependent on others for his livelihood.<\/p>\n

“It was incredibly hard at home. I couldn\u2019t take care of myself, nor could I support my family \u2013 my parents and siblings,”<\/em> he says.<\/p>\n

Everything changed when Mohammed Abdul-Nasir got the chance to enroll in a training program at the NOYED-Ghana Youth Training Centre in Tamale. There, he learned the necessary skills in welding and metalworking, which completely turned his life around for the better.<\/p>\n

The young man who was once dependent on others can now financially support his family. His mother earns a bit of extra money as a trader, while his father, a former farmer, has become bedridden due to old age. Despite the fact that Mohammed is currently working as an apprentice in someone else’s workshop and work can be slow at times, he earns enough to provide for his family\u2019s basic needs.<\/p>\n

“I am hopeful that my situation will improve even more once I am able to open my own workshop,”<\/em> he says. Mohammed is grateful for the opportunity to be part of this project.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m really happy that I was given this opportunity. This training has truly helped me, and the skills I\u2019ve gained are making a big difference. I am so thankful to have been part of this project,”<\/em> he adds.<\/p>\n<\/div>

WHAT HAVE WE ACHIEVED?<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Thanks to the support with tools and machines, NOYED can train young people in Ghana as metalworkers\/welders, enhancing the quality of vocational education and equipping them with valuable skills.<\/p>\n
