Since 2020 Gered Gereedschap is running a multi-year program in the Jinja region, Uganda, aimed at strengthening vocational eduction and stimulating entrepreneurship.

Tom Kakaire is a 35-year-old carpenter from the Iganga district of Uganda. He was supported by Gered Gereedschap with tools and machines. It radically changed his work and life!
STRENGTHENING VOCATIONAL EDUCATION
In recent years, Gered Gereedschap has worked together with different vocational institutes to improve the quality of technical education and to stimulate guidance towards work. By investing in tools and machinery and training teachers, we have worked to improve the quality of education so that graduates have the knowledge and skills to succeed in the local labor market, either in paid employment , or as an independent entrepreneur. At the same time, we have worked to stimulate entrepreneurship by creating internships and offering toolkits for starting young professionals.
