‘TO GIVE ANOTHER 300 DISADVANTAGED YOUNG PEOPLE A CHANCE HERE IN GHANA, THAT’S MY WISH! WILL YOU HELP US?’

Ziblim Yakuba, Wudep, Ghana

Ziblim Yakubu is a man with a mission. From the city of Tamale he coordinates the various projects of WUDEP, an organisation dedicated to improving the living conditions of the population. This part of Ghana is one of the poorest regions in the country and many young people leave for the cities to look for work.

WUDEP provides vocational training for young people in order to increase their opportunities to find work in their own region or to start their own business. Gered Gereedschap helps Ziblim with this: “Since Gered Gereedschap has started working with us, we can support our students much better. With the supplied tools we can not only train them better, but also give them tools to start their own business after their training. This is how we have been able to offer more than three hundred young people a chance for a better future in recent years. A fantastic result!’

New training courses

‘We are encouraged from all sides to open new training centres’, says Ziblim. ‘By local governments, religious leaders, village elders, you name it. They see that our training courses are having an effect. The help of Gered Gereedschap in setting up the new training courses is indispensable to this. And for that, I am asking for your help. Will you help so that together we can offer another 300 young people a chance for a better future?

Get involved!

Will you help Ziblim and the other people of WUDEP to create more opportunities for disadvantaged young people? Then support this project! A total of € 10,363 is needed. Every donation is most welcome. For 25 euros we can already supply a set of tools. You can submit your donation via iDEAL on our website: www.geredgereedschap.nl/donatie

Thanks in advance for your support!

By producing affordable shoes locally and at the same time providing opportunities for the local population. For example, by training young people to become shoemakers. With more tools Apex will be able to further expand its training places!

SOLAR ENERGY OFFERS YOUNG PEOPLE A SUSTAINABLE WAY FORWARD

MESHCP in Uganda makes sustainable energy accessible to the local population. The solar panels that are installed are made by the organisation itself, in combination with a training programme to become a solar panel technician. In this way, young people learn a profession and can start to work immediately. However, more tools are needed to strengthen the training programme.
