PRACTICAL, TANGIBLE AND COMPREHENSIVE

The projects supported by Gered Gereedschap will further improve technical vocational training and entrepreneurship in Africa. Our support is practical, tangible and comprehensive: 20 complete sets of carpentry tools, a fully equipped sewing workshop, additional training for technical vocational teachers. All our support is directed towards one purpose: promoting technical craftsmanship with quality tools, knowledge and skills. For each project we work together with reliable local partners. With several projects in one region we contribute to the growth in employment. Will you help us making it work?

GLADSON MSENDERA, MUSIC CROSSROADS MALAWI

A scholarship programme for 40 young people from the poorest families to train them in a short-term, practice-oriented course to become a metal worker. This is what Gladson Msendera from Music Crossroads in Malawi wants to realise together with Gered Gereedschap: ‘We offer support for the costs of the training, including the purchase of study materials. This is a great opportunity for these young people! With your support, they can receive vocational training and therefore have a prospect of a better life. Will you help us?’

A PAIR OF UGANDAN SHOES REPRESENTS A STEP FORWARD FOR MANY SHOEMAKERS

People who are poor usually don’t have enough money for good shoes. This is something Apex Leather Works is trying to change. By producing affordable shoes locally and at the same time providing opportunities for the local population. For example, by training young people to become shoemakers. With more tools Apex will be able to further expand its training places!

WUDEP provides vocational training for young people in the north of Ghana. Gered Gereedschap helps with this. Since the start we have been able to offer about 300 young people a chance for a better future. A fantastic result! Plans to help another 300 young people are ready. SOLAR ENERGY OFFERS YOUNG PEOPLE A SUSTAINABLE WAY FORWARD

MESHCP in Uganda makes sustainable energy accessible to the local population. The solar panels that are installed are made by the organisation itself, in combination with a training programme to become a solar panel technician. In this way, young people learn a profession and can start to work immediately. However, more tools are needed to strengthen the training programme.
