Will you help us make an even greater impact in Uganda?
Gered Gereedschap Uganda (GG Uganda) is part of the broader mission of Gered Gereedschap: a flourishing Africa without poverty, built on the strength of skilled professionals who earn a decent income and contribute to the development of their communities.
We believe that craftsmanship and vocational skills offer a powerful route to employment and entrepreneurship, especially for young people. In Uganda, we support this for over 6 years, by strengthening vocational education and promoting technical entrepreneurship. We do this through practical support: tools, machines, training, coaching and materials. Everything needed to help people build an independent and sustainable livelihood.
At GG Uganda, we are committed to empowering youth with the skills, resources and opportunities to succeed and to drive the development of their local economies and communities. GG Uganda is in a start-up phase, and we are ready to grow but that growth depends directly on your success. We are looking for a hands-on, entrepreneurial Manager Partnerships & Fundraising who’s excited to roll up their sleeves, work independently, and build the future of this organisation from the ground up. You will do this in close collaboration with our sister organisation in the Netherlands, which will provide strategic support, guidance, and backing as you lay the foundations for growth in Uganda.
The Role: Build. Connect. Deliver.
As Manager Partnerships & Fundraising, you are the driving force behind our resource mobilisation and external engagement efforts in Uganda. You turn strategy into action — securing funding, cultivating partnerships, and expanding our visibility.
You will:
Fundraising & External Communication
• Identify and map diverse local and international funding opportunities (embassies, foundations, NGOs, CSR funds, etc.).
• Lead the grant application process by translating existing project plans into tailored, compelling proposals that align with donor priorities and requirements.
• Build and maintain strong donor relationships through ongoing communication, including newsletters and networking events.
• Oversee and strengthen GG Uganda’s digital presence (website and social media).
Strategic Leadership & Representation
• Represent GG Uganda in high-level external forums (embassies, development agencies, private sector).
• Maintain and expand strategic partnerships (e.g., ILO, GIZ, ENABEL).
• Serve as the public face and ambassador of GG Uganda’s mission and impact.
Monitoring & Reporting
• Set clear fundraising targets aligned with GG’s vision and track progress towards results.
• Ensure compliance with donor agreements and internal standards.
• Deliver timely, high-quality reports to funders and stakeholders.
About You: Entrepreneurial Connector with a Heart for Impact
You are a self-starter who gets energy from building partnerships, closing deals, and creating social value. You are both a strategic thinker and a hands-on doer, able to work independently in a dynamic environment. You are confident, persuasive, and know how to turn conversations into commitments.
We are looking for someone who brings:
Experience & Skills
• Proven track record in fundraising and partnership development.
• Strong communication and representation skills – confident engaging with donors, government, and the private sector.
• Experience with writing grant proposals and managing donor relations.
• Familiarity with communication, CRM systems, social media, and structured documentation.
Personal Traits
• Ownership and initiative: you act without waiting to be told.
• Pragmatic and solutions-oriented: you focus on what works.
• Flexible and agile: you thrive in changing contexts.
• Results-driven: you work with clear KPIs and deliver.
• Team-minded and collaborative: you share knowledge and build trust.
• Strong integrity and ethical standards in donor relations and governance.
Why Join GG Uganda?
• Be part of a mission-driven organization with a proven track record in vocational empowerment.
• Play a central role in scaling impact and securing resources for future growth.
• Enjoy the freedom to shape your role and contribute your ideas.
• Work within a small, ambitious, and passionate team.
• Flexible working hours (24 hours per week), partly remote.
